Ok, so I've signed up for ![[info]](http://www.insanejournal.com/img/community.gif) no_true_pair 's May/June prompt. Fortunately, or possibly unfortunately the theme is kink so I'm up for a big challenge.

Since this is my first time writing anything for no_true_pair for the time being I'm working on the assumption that I don't have to do every single one of these challenges. So first of all, I have to choose what challenge I want to write for week 1.

Here's my first ever post on my actual journal. I've posted stuff on roads_diverged but that's not really the same, is it? Ok, basically I've got attacked by this one plot bunny and I've been working a discworld/firefly crossover fic. I just threw some of the Discworld characters into the firefly universe to see what would happen.
Some of what really helped me write this is the fact that I'm part of this firefly RP called Finding Serenity. ( findingserenity.org ) It's a great site, if you like firefly and RP you should join. XD Anyway, I've gotten used to the idea that the 'Verse is a big place and it's actually very fertile ground for interesting OCs.* Anyway, it probably goes without saying that I tweaked the backgrounds of the Discworld characters so they could fit into the 'Verse. I rounded up some characters and gave them a ship. Here's a cast list so far:
Ship: The Watch (Dragonfly class)
Captain: Sam Vimes
First Mate: Carrot Ironfoundersson
Mechanic: Havelock Vetinari
Pilot: Nobby Nobbs
Gunhand: Detritus
Medic: none.... yet.
Passenger: Sybil Ramkin
Passenger: Sally Von Humperding
Companion/shuttle tenant: Rosie Palm
There are some mentions of the Serenity crew and I'm going to throw in some cameos later. And I think there might be some cameos of other Discworld characters. I've got some bits worked out in my head and finished the prologue. One the thing's I'm worried about is that the Watch crew might end up following in the footsteps of the Serenity crew, doing similar jobs and dealing with some of the same problems. There are some situations where Vimes and Mal would react the same way. I'll just have to be careful then.
* I think Discworld could be too but I haven't really tried to find out.
